SWIS High School Worker The SWIS High School Worker supports immigrant and refugee students and their families in successfully integrating into the school system and community. This role provides orientation, settlement support, referrals, advocacy, and youth programming while working closely with schools, families, and community partners.Key Responsibilities: Build supportive relationships with newcomer students and families Assist with school registration, orientation, and school transitions Conduct needs assessments and provide referrals to community resources Support youth with settlement, education, and employment-related goals Organize youth programs, events, and cultural awareness activities Promote cross-cultural understanding and anti-racism education within schools Maintain accurate client files, documentation, and reports Collaborate with schools, service providers, and community agenciesQualifications: Post-secondary education in Human/Social Services or equivalent experience Experience working with youth and diverse communities Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of community resources and settlement supports Proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases Additional languages are considered an asset Mandatory Class 5 license, no restrictions Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check requiredWork Conditions: Full-time position (37.5 hours/week) Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Some evening/weekend work and travel may be required Please find full job description at mjmcinc.ca/careers.
